Looks like GT5 might incorporate damage into the driving equation now, YES! Only thing I hate is that NASCAR will be in it....oh goodie. Only thing those cars do great is turn left and crash. In my opinion, they don't belong in a game with racing series such as the JGTC, WRC, and Le Mans

yeah nascar is kinda lame.. but ooh well it just adds more variety.. and YES!!! DAMAGE!!! only thing about that is the fact that i usually win through very aggressive driving XD

When i first saw that nascar was included, i must say i was a cauight off guard a bit. However, i respect that they are simply trying to incorporate many forms of auto racing. I am pretty angry that they didnt have any motorcycles in the trailer... o well, hopefully dlc.

Would be cool but Gran Turismo has always been centered around on-road and Rally racing though. I too don't understand why they would have added Nascar to GT5....

Rally racing is off-road racing, though I am aware there are tarmac races and sections of tarmac in some of the stages. That notwithstanding, there were trucks in GT4 so Trophy trucks could easily fit in.

I think trophy trucks weren't as well known then as they are now. That could have had something to do with why they're not in there.

True, but there's bound to be a GT6, there's a possibility that trophy trucks will be in there. One can always dream though. :cool:

Well now I have to get a PS3, this was what I was waiting for. I had GT1 & GT2 on PS1. I then bought a PS2 because of GT3, bought GT4 the day it was released. So now I need GT5... thats about all there is to it! Yeah really could care less that NASCAR is included... but def look foward to putting Jeff Gordon into a wall ;)

GT6 haha, that has a release date of like 2030 at the rate Polyphony delivers. Im a huge fan of Gran Turismo series, and have been hooked since the first, and the day this game is released, I will get a PS3... but till then, its all about Forza..

not to sound like a fanboy... but i have played probably 20 hours of forza, and honestly, it can not hold a candle to gran turismo. forza is cool for the vehicle customization, but when it comes to strait physics, there is only one.

Not getting into this debate because I love both games, and initially wrote off Forza. All I will say... is that atleast I can play Forza... Polyphony needs to pull its finger out and giddy up, the time I've waited for GT5 is stupid either give realistic dates, or dont give any dates...

I also think that the physics in Forza are top notch, you can feel inertia and tireslip about 500% then GT series.. Examples being if you put the boot in on a high power RWD car on GT, it doesnt loop like it would normally.

That being said, I haven't had the opportunity to play the new GT5 prolouge... the interiors looks gorgeous though.. wish Forza could pull those graphics off... Even FM3 doesnt look like its interiors will touch GT5.

I'm an unashamed total GT fanboy, and after whetting my whistle with GT3 & then finishing GT4 many times over, trying out Forza 2 was an exercise in disappointment, at first. I definitely prefer the GT physics and tuning responses and feel they're more realistic, but there's a very large difference in the approach to controller response between the two games, which makes them feel entirely different. GT assumes it takes a human time to turn a steering wheel, while Forza effectively gives you a direct grip on the steering rack, so you can crank it full lock extremely rapidly. Forza also doesn't seem to properly account for tire slip angle (not loss of traction, but slip angle -- caused by the bending of tires under load), which further exaggerates the steering response and contributes a lot to the loopiness Johnny mentioned. Because of this, migrating from one to another feels very strange and to a seasoned driver of either, the other doesn't seem right.

All of that said, I don't play GT4 anymore, and I haven't even finished GT5 Prologue yet. The graphics are 4x better in GT5 than Forza and I love it, and the music is more exciting too, but Forza's interface usability and especially the car customization features are hard not to prefer. Add to that the order of magnitude superiority of Microsoft's online system and the fact that my gaming friends are on Live, and it's not a fair fight.

I will definitely be getting the limited edition GT5 whenever it comes out, but I doubt I'll be switching to it as my game of choice, especially since I'll have completely finished the Forza 3 offline game by then and have a full garage once again!

Personally although I am not a big Nascar fan I think it would be really fun to be crashing into people on a multiplayer game. LOL! :)

GT6: R/C edition! I don't own a PS3, but I'd like to. The game Spectrum is getting larger and larger, and my gaming collection is, too. This, however looks like a kickbutt game =]
